Comic -Con!

Hey,

So awhile ago we went to comic con and we had a blast. We didn't dress up but we enjoyed seeing everyone else's costumes and the time and effort that everyone spent on their costumes. There was such a variety of costumes from Deadpool, Spiderman, Iron Man, Storm Troopers and Chewbacca.

We enjoyed looking around at all the different stalls and were looking at the best deals on new nerdy things, such as £1 comics. We didn't know many of the stars that were at the convention but did know Robert Llewellyn from Red Dwarf.

We thoroughly enjoyed the convention and hope to go to more conventions and bigger ones as our local comic con I quite small and so hope to go to a comic-con in London or maybe even go to America for some conventions some day.

Leave us a comment if you have ever been to any conventions and what you enjoy about these conventions as well as if there are any similarities to our experience. Please leave a comment on what else you would like to see us post about as well as follow our social media links for more!

Thanks,

Marvel Monday! - Avengers Infinity War Part One!

Hello,

So, we have finally been to see the new Avengers film and we loved it so much. So, before we get started with our thoughts on the film we want to give a SPOILER ALERT! So, if you have not seen the film yet, which is unlikely as we were late to go an see it, then be aware that this post will continue spoilers of what happens in the film.

Right from the start of the film you are put into the action with Thor and Loki and we were completely gutted that Loki was killed so quickly into the film. But, for those who have seen the film know that a lot of them drop like flies by either dying or being captured and a lot of them are not on screen for a lot of time before switching to another superhero character.

This didn't bother us so much as the film was a superhero overload with many of our favourite superheroes, which isn't really hard to achieve. When it cut to Dr.Strange we were surprised and happy at the same time. We aren't going to pretend that we know everything about Marvel and we didn't binge watch every Marvel film before going to see this one so it took us a bit of thinking to remember things from previous films like the latest Thor film and Black Panther.

Still, we love Marvel and the film met our expectations and more. We wanted to scream in the cinema when Captain America came on screen and then Black Widow and the Falcon. We were ecstatic and that was one of our favourite scenes as these characters are honestly three of our favourites minus the Winter Soldier. So, we had the same reaction when Bucky Barnes came on screen with the Black Panther in Wakanda.

But, the fan favourite scene which we loved was definitely Thor returning to earth with his axe with Groot and Rocket. We even changed our minds from which superhero we would be to Thor just from that one scene.

Although, we were very annoyed, like the rest of the world who have seen the film, with Star Lord or Quill when they almost managed to get the glove off of Thanos but he decided to ruin the plan and get emotional about gamer. We get it he loves her but he could have waited until after they managed to get the glove off of him.

Despite this, we loved the film and are highly anticipating the next film and trying to come up with some theories like the rest of the world on what will happen next. We hope we didn't include too many spoilers for those of you who haven't seen it yet but we highly recommend that you do and if you have seen it leave a comment on some of your theories for the next film or share them with us on social media.

Thanks for reading,

Favourite DisneyLand Paris Attractions!

Hello everyone,

For todays Blog post we are going to be telling you our favourite attractions at DisneyLand Paris as you can probably know from the title. We hope you enjoy.

It is so hard telling you in order which is our favourite as we cannot pick which one is at the top of list as we do love them all but Molly's two favourites are Crush Coaster and Space Mountain because she loves the speed that they go and the theme of crush coaster as it is very different from other rides at DisneyLand. Rebekah's two favourite are Peter Pan's Flight and Rock'n Rollercoaster because she loves the music for rock'n rollercoaster and Peter Pan's flight because it makes her feel like she is flying and it brings back a lot of happy memories.

We both love meeting the characters and watching the parades as we love that you get to interact with your favourite characters and like seeing all the interesting floats. We also love that you can see all of the characters at the parades as you sometimes can't meet them because they don't do meet and greets or because the queues are too long so this is a good opportunity to see them.

A must have for Molly is going on the dumbo and flying magic carpet rides as they bring back a lot of memories from when I went to Disney with my family when I was a child. A must have for Rebekah is defiantly going on big thunder mountain and she has to have chips from Casey's Corner.

One thing we think you have to do when you go to DisneyLand is to go on It's A Small World as it is a iconic ride and it is suitable for everyone, no matter your age. We also think you have to go on the Mad Hatters Tea Cups because it is a great ride to let your inner child out on and Buzz lightyear Laser Blast ride as it will bring your competitive side out.

If you like big rides and drops you defiantly have to go on Hollywood Tower of Terror as the drops and theme of the ride will be sure to get you screaming. also you have to go on Indiana Jones as the loops and drops will get anyone scared no matter if you are a massive rollercoasters fan.

If you are a Toy Story fan you can not miss going to Toy Story land as it will make you feel like one of the toys in Andy's toy box and there are rides for everyone. The theme of Toy Story Land will make anyone feel like a kid again with the big Buzz Lightyear and the monkeys and iconic lights. Also if you go to Adventure Land you can go through the caves of Skull Rock to make you feel apart of Neverland, which was a must when we went are both huge Peter Pan fans.

One thing we didn't do when we went but we massively regret not doing is going to see some of the shows like Animagique and 25th anniversary show as they both showcase some of your favourite characters and you get to see them sing and dance to all your favourite Disney songs.

Thank you for reading about our favourite DisneyLand Paris attractions, if you have any that we have missed please comment them down below as we would love to hear them. Don't forget to follow us on all of our social medias as we are always posting things. See you next time,

Thank you,

Revision Tips

Hello,

So, it is that type of year again where we are stressing over exams and revising as much as possible. So, we would like to share some tips with you that will help you revise and be prepared for your exams.

First of all, you need to find out the best ways that you revise. For us that is writing out notes and sticking revision notes up on our wall. We also use a lot of A3 paper and use visuals and writing on them to help us remember things. However, this is not beneficial to everyone so you need to think about what type of learner you are and how best you learn.

We also like using our whiteboard to write our notes and teach ourselves using this. We use multiple colours on our whiteboard and in our revision notes as this tends to help things stand out and it helps us to revise what is important in our notes.

We also find that using mind maps for specific subjects is also very helpful. For example, for English we tend to make a mind map for a character and then include all the important quotes from that character in mind map.

For other subjects that use maths and diagrams we like to draw them out with notes on them and stick them up on the walls as this tends to help us revise without realising it as all the notes that are on the wall we are reading every time we are in our room without realising it and so we are revising without fully paying attention to it.

We also struggle to revise in dead silence. We have to have some sound on. Therefore, we often put a film on that we have seen a million times before (normally Harry Potter for Rebekah or Wild Child for Molly) and then we don't get distracted by the film as we are revising. We also like to listen to music when we are revising as it helps us to block everyone else out and focus. Although, sometimes it can be a little distracting and you end up writing the lyrics you are listening to instead of your revision notes or you end up singing along to the song.

We like to learn visually and so use a lot of colour, as we said before, in our notes but we tend to colour co-ordinate as it helps us to know which notes are involving which subject or topic in the subject.

Another tip for revision is to take plenty of breaks as your brain actually can't concentrate for a long period of time. Therefore, we take lots of breaks when we are revising as it allows us to relax and not be stressed out all the time. Therefore, in our breaks we like to get out of the house as we tend to spend a lot of time inside when revising so getting outside for a couple minutes or longer helps us to feel like we have had a break and feel motivated to carry on revising. Exercise is also good as it helps you to release stress and we often take a walk with the dog when on a break to help us exercise and get some fresh air.

Sometimes we record ourselves speaking our notes and then listen to it. This helped us when doing our GCSE's when we had to do speaking exams for language subjects like Welsh and so it allowed us to remember what we had to say. However, this can actually be beneficial in other subjects as you can hear your notes and you are able to remember them like you are ale to remember lyrics to a song.

Thank you for reading. Don't forget to follow our social media accounts and leave a comment on your revision tips as well as what you would like to see us blog about next.

Choosing a University

Hello,

So, we are off to university soon and we wanted to share with you how we picked the universities that we chose as well as give some tips on how to chose the right university. Of Course, not everyone wants to go to university and we understand that and we ourselves even questioned whether we should go to university and whether university was for us and so we will also share with you how we decided that we want to go to university.

So, when we started talking about universities we at first questioned whether we were right for university and whether university would be right for us. Therefore, we had to look at whether we were definitely sure that we wanted to go to university. Therefore, what helped us to decide to go to university was looking at what courses were available to study and seeing whether we were interested in them. We first looked at what we would like to study in higher education as we knew that we would have to study this for 3 years or more and as such needed to pick something that we would enjoy as well as help us get a future career that we wanted.

Once we had looked at the course that we wanted to study we looked at each of the universities courses to see if the modules in the course would interest us as well as the entry requirements for the course. Therefore, we found universities that did our course and looked at the course modules to see if we were interested and then narrowed them down to the universities that had entry requirements that we felt were realistic for us to achieve.

Once we had picked a select few universities that had a course that we like and had entry requirements which were realistic for us to achieve we then looked at each of the universities in detail looking at their teaching standards, student satisfaction, life in the area and of course what every student is concerned with night life. Now for us night life wasn’t actually a big deal but we knew that we didn’t want somewhere which wasn’t completely student orientated as we knew it would not be right for us. However, some people like areas that are not suited towards students and as such it all comes down to what you want. This is also evident as one of us has decided to go to a city university and the other a campus university. Both are very different so we recommend going on open days when possible so that you can see if you like the atmosphere of the university.

We highly recommend that you go on open days as they truly helped us to decide our five choices for our UCAS applications. On a open day you get to speak to the lecturers of the course and get their in put as well as speak to the current students who are doing the course that you want to do. You also get a feel for the university and look around the facilities and also look at where everything is in the university. The best part of an open day for us was looking at the accommodation which is what a lot of students are concerned with. This is important as you will most likely be living there for the majority of the year especially if you are leaving home to go to university.

Once we had got our offers from the universities we then were left with a decision of what university to chose. Therefore, we had to look at a bunch of different things to make the decision. For starters we had to look at the offer that we were given and whether or not we were likely to achieve the offer. We also looked at how we felt on the open day and whether we liked the area and the university. We also looked at the league tables although they did not play a big part in our choice as we wanted to make sure that we chose a university that we liked and not one that was considered to be an amazing university. Finally, we found that thinking about living in the area and being in the university helped as we were able to see where we could see ourselves going. This also came from our parents thoughts as they tend to know us pretty well and so we asked them where they could see us going and this contributed to our decision.

However, you need to make sure that at the end of the day you pick the university that you want as you can get advice and input from other people but it has to be your own decision and we made sure that we took our parents opinion into consideration but also listened to ourselves on where we wanted to go.

We hope this was somewhat helpful for you and if you want to see more posts about our choices for universities and the process we went through and eventually about our universities when we get there then please let us know. Also leave a comment on your own experiences or more posts that you would like to see.

Marvel Mondays!

Hello,

So, Avengers Infinity War was released last Thursday and we are still avoiding all the spoilers before we go and see it for ourselves. However, we then thought of a new blog idea called Marvel Monday.

Marvel Monday will be a series of blog posts where we post about all things marvel. So, if you love superheroes, especially marvel superheroes, then stay tuned for this series.

So, to kick of this series we thought we would talk about some of the best superheroes that are a part of the marvel franchise. These are some of our favourites (of the avengers) so if you have other favourites that we have not mentioned then please leave them in the comments and please no spoilers for infinity war!

First off one of my all time favourite superheroes has got to be Captain America. For some reason Captain America is just a superhero that I love. I have constantly argued with my dad about Captain America being an incredible superhero with his super soldier abilities and his friendship to Bucky, The Winter Soldier.

This brings me onto another loved superhero, in my opinion, the Winter Soldier. I absolutely love the Winter Soldier and think that his story is one of the most interesting stories and his journey as a character is definitely one that shows just how complex the character is.

Another character that we love, and dearly miss, is quicksilver. To say we were gutted by his death is an understatement. We thought quicksilver was a great character and definitely wish that he hadn’t died. In fact we prefer him to his sister and think that he had so much potential in the franchise as a superhero.

Another marvel superhero that we love is Hawkeye. Sure he doesn’t have a super power but his aim with his bow and arrow is super enough. He is also an interesting character and him having a family makes us hope that he is not killed in Infinity War (NO SPOILERS PLEASE!!). Although, we did ship him and Black Widow at one point but now that ship has sailed due to the progression of him as a character and already having a wife and kids.

Lastly, or we will end up naming all the marvel superheroes rather than some of our favourites, we want to finish with a villain and so one of our favourites is Loki. The brother of Thor who we are supposed to hate due to him almost destroying the world and yet we love him too much to hate him.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for next weeks Marvel Monday to find out our thoughts on Avengers Infinity War!

Pancake Day!!

Hello everyone,
For today's blog post as it is Shove Tuesday (Pancake day) we thought we would post our pancake recipes and how to plan the perfect pancake breakfast/ desert party.

Recipe:
200g of Flour
300 ml of milk
3 eggs

Whisk all the mixture up and then get a saucepan put it on the hob and put it on a high heat. When the pan is hot pour a small amount of oil and spread it around the pan by rotating it. You then need to pour a small amount of the mixture onto the pan and then rotate the pan so the mixture spreads. When you think the mixture has cooked enough on one side flip the pancake and leave it to cook and then just keep repeating until you think that your pancake is ready to eat. If you are vegan there are recipes online that you can use and follow that are good.

We had the whole family home as we are not normally all in the house at the same time to sit down and have food as we have school work, work and other commitments but it was really nice that we all made time to sit down and have a catch up whilst stuffing our faces with pancakes. As you can see from the photos we set the table and got everything out that we might need to create the best pancakes ever, and I can tell you that they were amazing!

Some of the things you may want to buy or get out of the cupboard or fridge is:
A pot of Nutella or chocolate spread
Golden syrup
Lemon juice
Sugar
Fruit - we had strawberries, raspberries, bananas and blueberries.

We also decided to put out coconut shredded pieces and it went amazing with the Nutella.

We had a pot of tea and coffee on the table for whoever wanted it and we also had orange juice, pineapple juice and apple juice.

Make sure you are following our Instagram and Twitter to see what our pancakes looked like. We hope you have a lovely pancake day and that you ate lots of pancakes. Thank you for reading, we would love to hear from you so make sure you leave a comment. Don't forget to follow all of our social medias that are down below to keep up with what we are doing and see what exciting things we are planning. See you next time

Disney In The Dark!

Hello,
So, this is the last part of our trip to Disney and it is the Disney in the dark post. We included all our night time activities in this post for all three days and packed it into this one post for you. Make sure to read our other posts on our days in the park as well.

As we went in October it got dark very quickly. This was nice as all the park was nicely lit up and we even managed to go on a lot of rides in the dark quickly as no one wanted to be in the cold and in the dark. The best ride to go on in the dark is definitely the Mad Hatter's Tea cups as the ride is lit up and it is so pretty and a lot of fun in the dark. We did this ride repeatedly as it was one of our favourites especially in the dark.

We also managed to go on Big Thunder Mountain in the dark. We found that this was the best time to go on the ride as the line wasn't that long at this time and we decided against seeing the fireworks on the first night. We highly recommend doing this as all the lines are short. We also managed to go on Indiana Jones in the dark and found that this made the ride much scarier and added to the atmosphere that you would expect from Indiana Jones.

We then went on its a small world and it was so much fun and we didn't have to line up for long. This meant that it was definitely worth it as we were on the ride straight away and listening to the same song repeatedly. We then managed to go on Pirates of the Caribbean in the dark and we weren't sure whether we were waiting inside or outside due to the setting of the line but the heat told us that we were definitely inside waiting for the ride and we were more than happy with that.

The best part was our first evening meal of the holiday. We went to Planet Hollywood and decided to spoil ourselves especially as it is quite expensive even with the voucher. The portions were good and even we couldn't finish the food as there was so much of it.

On the second day we managed to rush over to Hollywood Studios park after the parade in order to get on Crush Coaster. We had wanted to go on all day but never found the right time as there was always such a long wait for the ride. We eventually just decided to wait and kept ourselves entertained in the queue of the ride along with some of our peers in the lines. To keep us entertained we decided to play heads up and it did its job as we were laughing our heads of as we were acting out all the different Disney characters. It was definitely worth it as it is one of our favourite rides.

We then ran to Toy Soldier Parachute drop as were had also wanted to go on it and thought it would be the quietest time on the second day and we may not of had enough time to do it on our last day. After this we went back to the magic kingdom park waiting for the fireworks. Disney never disappoint with the fireworks and we were all definitely amazed by the show that they put on. We felt just like kids again and it was truly incredible to watch.

Disneyland Paris Day Three

Hello,

This is the last day that we had in Disney before flying home. Unfortunately, we didn't have a full day in the park but we still managed to get everything that we wanted to do done and more.

The first thing we did was fastpass Buzz Lightyear. We had been dying to go on this ride for ages so we knew to Fastpass it straight away so we could go on it. After getting the Fastpass we went straight onto another ride that had a much shorter line and so we went on Phantom Manor which really added to the Halloween theme. It was a really good ride and enjoyable for all ages as it wasn't actually too scary.

We then went back on Space Mountain as we loved it so much and then decided to go and get some food from the Hakuna Matata Restaurant. However, on the way we saw Captain Hook and decided to wait to see him. It wasn't actually a short wait and so we managed to see him pretty quickly. He was not too impressed with the Peter Pan ears we had with us and even almost threw them into the water. Many of the younger kids watching loved this and we were so happy with how good the characters interacted with everyone.   We then saw that Peter Pan was opposite Captain Hook so we went and queued to meet him and he was much happier to see the Peter Pan ears of course.

We still had time to kill before using our fastpass so we went to have a look at some of the shops and stopped to try out some glass blowing. The lady was very nice and had a joke around with us and it was a nice thing for all of us to try. It was then time to use our fastpass so we made our way over to the Buzz Lightyear ride.

The ride is normally really good but it kept stopping due to some difficulties. It was good for us though as we figured out that we were still able to get points even though the ride was static. We were all determined to get the highest score out of us all and so we were taking it way too seriously but it was a lot of fun and Molly was really happy as she had the most points so she won.

Unfortunately, this was the last ride of the day but we saved enough time to have shop and have a walk down the Disney village.

Thanks for reading our post about our last day in Disney. Make sure to check out our other posts on our trip to Disney and leave a comment telling us what you think and maybe about your holidays. Follow our social media which is linked at the bottom to find out more about when we post.

Disneyland Paris Day Two

Hello,
This is the second instalment of our trip to Disneyland Paris and on this day we decided to go to the magic kingdom park and focus on getting everything we wanted to get there done. We managed to do quite a lot despite there being so many people in the park and we even managed to do some things twice.

We obviously took so many photos upon first arrival and then we went straight to fastpass Peter Pan's Flight. After doing this we found a ride nearby with a short waiting time by using the app and so we managed to get on the Dumbo ride pretty quickly.

After the Dumbo ride we went to Alice's maze. This was so much fun and we got a good view from the centre of the maze before leaving and going onto another ride. This is a really fun thing to do if there are lots of queues for the rides that you want to go on and you want to wait for the queues to go down or if you have time to spare when you are waiting for your fastpass time for a ride.

After this we went to the Snow White ride as it was also a short line. It was nice and definitely good if you have kids with you. Snow White was frightening as a child but was still enjoyable and we found that it had a similar effect when we were grown up but was still really good ride.

We then went on Star Tours and unfortunately for us it was in French. However, we were still able to grasp the concept of the ride and the story and it was still a lot of fun but if you are not a huge Star Wars fan it is probably best to save time and only go on it if it has a short waiting time as it may seem pointless otherwise. We then decided to go on the Carousel ride and it was actually pretty good fun even for people who are obsessed with rollercoasters. When we were walking around the park we noticed there was a small waiting line for the Mad Hatters Tea Cups sop we decided to go on that. When we were walking we also noticed that Geppetto was standing around having photos with people so we decided to join the queue.

We then went for some food at Casey's corner which was a good place to go when we were kids. It is still as good as ever as it has the best chips ever! After having our food we waited ages to see Stitch but it was definitely worth it. Even if we had to sprint to Peter Pan's Flight ready for our fastpass.

After this we went on Space Mountain and it was definitely amazing. Disney added a Star Wars theme to the ride and it made the ride one hundred times better than when we were younger. This was the last ride of the day before going back to the hotel and getting ready to go back out for our night at Disney to watch the parade and fireworks.

Thanks for reading and make sure to read our Disney Day One as well as go over and read our other Disney blog posts to find out about the rest of our trip to Disney. Don't forget to leave a comment and follow our social media pages to see more posts and to give us your thoughts on our blog.
